2025 Fall Adjudicator Training
TTAO will be hosting a fall training for new adjudicators and contest managers. Once schools have finalized their fall contests, we will confirm dates and details and announce those. SPACES LIMITED! Complete application (https://forms.gle/A4iW2NiKCQbSKTiS8) prior to the deadline (April 25th or capacity reached) to be considered for participation in the certification workshop. Participation is limited to those eligible to judge in the 2025-2026 season. This event is limited to 20 participants. You will be notified if your application is approved, and you are eligible to participate by April 28th at the latest.
DATES/LOCATION: Monday, May 12, 2025 (7:30 am – 11:59 pm)/Tuesday, May 13, 2025 (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)

BEFORE APPLYING:
To be considered, all applicants must do the following:
1. Go to https://www.ttao.org/core-values/ and read the “TTAO Core Values” and also scroll down to read, “TTAO’s Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.”

3. Be CERTAIN you will be able to attend before registering. If you are unable to attend, you will not be eligible to attend a training until the fall of 2026. Space is limited and we want to be sure those who register attend. Thanks for your understanding.
DEADLINE TO APPLY: TTAO will accept applications until Friday, April 25, 2025 or until our capacity of 20 is reached. Applicants are encouraged to apply early during the application period. Applicants will be notified by Monday, April 28, 2025 (at the latest) if they have been selected.
NOTE: Please read eligibility requirements carefully. All potential judges are encouraged to secure hotel accommodations as soon as possible. Hotels do fill up quickly. (Hotel Ideas: Austin ISD PAC Places to Eat and Stay within walking distance – Google Sheets)
WORKING SCHEDULE: Participants should plan to arrive on site by scheduled times listed above for both days and remain throughout the duration of the contest and critiques the next morning.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Eligible judges MAY NOT be involved in the direction of an official UIL One-Act play entry during the academic year in which they serve as a judge. This applies at ANY level (high school or middle school). All potential judges must submit an application to be approved for participation. Potential judges should possess the following:
Undergraduate degree in theatre* AND at least one of the following:
• 5 or more years of post-degree professional theatre experience
• 5 or more years of post-degree educational theatre experience
• and/or advanced degree in theatre
*Potential adjudicators who do not possess a degree in theatre but who have VERY significant educational theatre experience will also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
FEES:
There is no fee for the workshop, however, following the workshop, new Adjudicators will be required to pay a TTAO $75 membership fee online to be added to the list of judges.
